Man, along with son, daughter drown in well

Bhopal: Tragedy struck a village in Seoni district as a 50-year-old man, Subhash Sahu, along with his 11-year-old daughter and teenage son, drowned in a well on Tuesday night in Dhaparahar hamlet within the Dhuma police station jurisdiction, as reported by the police on Wednesday.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Kumar Singh of Seoni, the unfortunate incident unfolded when Subhash Sahu went to his farm to apply pesticides to the crops. Sahu’s son, Arpit, was mixing insecticide using a bucket while drawing water from the well when he slipped and fell in. In a heroic attempt to save his son, Sahu jumped into the well. Seeing her father and brother in distress, Arpita, Sahu’s daughter, also plunged into the well.

Despite efforts by onlookers to rescue them, only Achchhelal, another individual at the scene, could be saved. The police arrived later, retrieving the bodies of Sahu and his two children from the well.

In a separate incident during the ‘Kartik Snan’ at Anguri Nadi in Datia, a 13-year-old girl and a 21-year-old woman tragically lost their lives.
