Cooch Behar, Apr (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday slammed the BJP government at the Centre for allegedly using the federal agencies like the CBI and ED and appealed to the people not to kowtow.
” It is better to rely on a poisonous snake but not the BJP as the Prime Minister and his party want to have monopoly in every respect,” Banerjee said while addressing an election rally in support of TMC candidate Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia for Cooch Behar seat.
Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri seats have the first phase of polling on April 19.
“The BJP is going to poll with central agencies and we won’t bow down to it,” Banerjee reiterated.
Banerjee also mentioned the Sitalkuchi incident in which CISF firing killed five people during the 2021 Assembly poll.
The TMC supremo, who is the face of the ruling party in the electoral battle, said the BJP must be taught a lesson because it did not “respect” the model code of conduct.
The saffron brigade was manipulating the central agencies, she alleged and also slammed the Congress, CPI-M and the Indian Secular Front.
