LS polls will be held in four phases in MP

  • Model code of conduct will be strictly followed: CEO

Bhopal: Chief Electoral Officer Shri Anupam Rajan has said that the dates of Lok Sabha elections 2024 have been announced by the Election Commission of India on Saturday. Along with this, the Model Code of Conduct has also become fully effective in the state, which will be strictly followed.
Rajan said that the election process will be conducted in 4 phases in the state. Voting for the first phase will be completed on 19th April, for the second phase on 26th April, for the third phase on 7th May and for the fourth phase the voting process will be completed on 13th May. The results of all phases of counting will be declared simultaneously on June 4, 2024.

First phase voting

Rajan said that in the first phase, voting will be held in 6 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara on 19 April 2024. Notification for the first phase will be released on March 20. Nomination papers will be filed from this day itself. The last date for filing nomination papers is March 27. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on March 28. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till March 30. Voting will take place on April 19.

Second phase voting

In the second phase, voting will be held in 7 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies Tikamgarh, Damoh, Khajuraho, Satna, Rewa, Hoshangabad and Betul on 26 April 2024. Notification for this phase will be released on March 28. Nomination papers will be filed from this day onwards. The last date for filing nomination papers is April 4. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on April 5. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till April 8. Voting will take place on April 26.

Third phase voting

In the third phase, voting will be held in 8 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal and Rajgarh on 7 May 2024. Notification for this phase will be released on April 12. Candidates will be able to submit nomination papers till 19th April. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 20th April. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 22 April. Voting will take place on May 7.

Fourth phase voting

Similarly, in the fourth phase, voting will be held in 8 Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa on 13 May 2024. Notification for this phase will be released on April 18. Candidates will be able to submit nomination papers till 25th April. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on 26th April. Candidates will be able to withdraw their names till 29th April. Voting will take place on May 13.
