Last girder placed at Alkapuri metro station

  • Almost 90 percent work completed at five metro stations

The last, 1368th girder was laid on the intervening night of Saturday-Sunday at the under-construction Alkapuri station under Bhopal Metro. With the laying of this girder, the road work in the Priority Corridor has almost been completed.

Therefore, now the work inside the stations will speed up. According to Bhopal Metro, the work of laying block wall, lift, escalator, staircase, entry-exit and track will start. Apart from this, the finishing and tiling work inside the station will pick up pace. Metro MD Sibi Chakraborty has congratulated the entire team of Bhopal Metro on the laying of the last girder. Construction work of eight stations is going on in the Priority Corridor of Bhopal Metro. A total of 171 girders have been placed at one station. This last girder has been placed at Alkapuri station. At the same time, about 90 percent work has been completed at five metro stations. Here only the internal work including the interior is left. Up to 40 percent work has been completed with girder launching at Alkapuri, AIIMS and DRM Office stations. Now the work of laying tracks and building entry walls will begin at Alkapuri, AIIMS and DRM office.

Priority Corridor is 6.22 kilometers long

Bhopal Metro has a 6.22 km long priority corridor, which is between Subhash Nagar and AIIMS. During this period, there are eight stations, out of which girder and track have been launched last year itself at Subhash Nagar, DB Mall, MP Nagar, Central School and Rani Kamlapati station. Work on stations was also started in October 2023.
