Kumari Selja shreds BJP over unfulfilled promises

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) Congress leader Kumari Selja on Wednesday accused the BJP of not fulfilling promises and only resorting to issuing statements.

At a media briefing here, Selja shredded the BJP-led government on the reservation issue. “PM Narendra Modi-led government only talks about reservation for backward classes, but when it comes to giving something, it backs down,” she alleged.

Talking about the upcoming Chhattisgarh assembly polls, she said Congress was fully prepared. “It would not be wrong if I say that we have been prepared for the last five years. We are going to the people today with our slogan – ‘Bharosa Barkarar, Phir Se Congress Sarkar’. Chhattisgarh government has fulfilled all the promises made by Rahul Gandhi – be it for farmers or tribal regions or poor landless labourers. So, we did what we said,” Kumari Selja said.

Comparing both the parties, Congress and BJP, promises made and fulfilled by them, she said this is the difference between them, Congress has never done the politics of falsehoods. The party does, what party says. BJP doesn’t give anything other than ‘jumlebaazi’, like giving Rs 15 lakh to everyone.

Asserting that her party would form the government again in the state, Kumari Selja said, “We say on the basis of our work that Congress will again form government in Chhattisgarh with an overwhelming majority.”

“Last time, 68 of our MLAs had won. Later in by-polls, we got 3 more MLAs. In the coming elections, we will cross the tally of 75. We have made every citizen a part of our development – farmers, labourers, poor people, urban people, rural people. Everyone feels that the state govt has done something for him/her,” she added.
