Viral video of Devendra Singh Tomar
Bhopal: Ahead of the MP Election-2023, a viral video has sparked a political uproar in the state. In the video, Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar, son of Narendra Singh Tomar, can be seen discussing financial transactions. The Congress has launched a vehement attack on the BJP in response to this development. Devendra Tomar himself has taken legal action against the viral video, asserting that it is manipulated and tarnishes his reputation.
In light of this, Kamal Nath, the President of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, has raised questions about the authorities’ failutre to conduct an investigation into the viral video involving Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s son. He has urged the Election Commission of India to take prompt action to uncover the truth.
Nath lodges complaint with EC
Kamal Nath conveyed his concerns on social media and lodged a complaint with the Election Commission. To date, no investigative agency has initiated an inquiry, and the government’s top leadership, including Minister Tomar, has remained silent.
Kamal Nath emphasized, “The video has emerged in a state where the government is accused of operating under a 50% commission rule. Failing to investigate such suspicious videos during an election poses a threat to a fair and healthy democratic process. I call upon the Election Commission to take immediate action in this matter.”
Devendra Tomar lodges police complaint
Devendra Tomar, the son of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, responded to the situation by lodging a case at the Civil Line police station in Morena. In his complaint, he alleged a conspiracy against him, with the fake video creating a negative atmosphere.
He stated that no such funds have been deposited in the bank accounts of his family or anyone associated with them. He insisted that these claims are entirely false and fabricated and called for the identification and strict punishment of those involved in the conspiracy.
The video purportedly features an individual addressing Devendra Pratap Singh Tomar as “bhaiya” and “guruji.” On the phone call, a middleman discusses the readiness to transfer Rs 100 crore through a retired RBI commissioner with the surname Tyagi. The video also mentions deals worth Rs 39 crore with political parties in Punjab and Rajasthan.
It’s worth noting that Narendra Singh Tomar, who was the Union Steel and Mining Minister from 2014 to 2019, currently holds the position of Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare in the Central Government.
