Srinagar, June 3 (UNI) A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday, police said.
The encounter erupted in the Nihama area when joint forces were carrying out a cordon and a search operation following an input about militant presence.
“The encounter has started in the Nihama area of District Pulwama. Police and security forces are on the job,” a police post on X said.
Additional forces have been rushed to the area to ensure that militants don’t manage to break the cordon.
