I.N.D.I.A bloc holds protest in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar over MPs’ suspension

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (I.N.D.I.A) bloc – comprising a clutch of parties opposed to the BJP- on Friday held a protest at Jantar Mantar here against the suspension of MPs from both Houses of Parliament during the winter session.

Talking about the suspension of MPs, protesting opposition leaders said that the parliamentarians who wanted to discuss the security breach incident that took place in the Lok Sabha on December 13 – were suspended.

“They (MPs) were suspended for raising their voice against the security lapse. They were demanding a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah in the House, but he did not do so,” alleged the leaders.

Taking a dig at the Centre, Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi accused the government of not providing employment to the country’s youths.

“Nowadays the youth of our country spend about seven and a half hours on their mobile phones because of unemployment,” Gandhi alleged.

Gandhi accused the BJP of suppressing the voice of the people. “The MPs who were suspended are not just individuals but are the voices of the people of India. You have not only insulted the MPs but also silenced the people,” he alleged

Addressing the workers, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP-led government of destroying democracy. “PM Narendra Modi ji and Home Minister Amit Shah ji have taken the initiative to destroy democracy and the Constitution of the country,” he remarked.

Taking about the I.N.D.I.A bloc, Kharge said the opposition has formed the alliance to save the country. “These people are working to crush dalits, labourers, women and farmers. That’s why we have formed I.N.D.I.A to save the country,” he said.
