Ranchi, May 28 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday postponed hearing on a bail application submitted by former Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the 8.86-acre land scam case here.
Justice Ranjan Mukhopadhyay’s Vacation Bench heard the arguments. The Enforcement Directorate sought more time to respond. The High Court ordered the ED to submit its response by June 10 and scheduled the same date for the next hearing in the case.
Senior advocate Kapil Sibal and High Court advocate Shrey Mishra appeared for JMM chief Soren.
Soren has been detained since January 31 over charges of involvement in the Bargai Anchal Land Scam.
The ED issued a charge sheet against five individuals, including Soren, after a complete investigation of the case. There are 10 more accused arrested in the case.
