Gulshan Devaiah stars in dual role in Disney+ Hotstar’s ‘Bad Cop’

New Delhi, June 7 (UNI) Disney+ Hotstar has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming twin drama series, ‘Bad Cop’, featuring versatile actor Gulshan Devaiah in a double role.

Produced by Fremantle India and directed by Aditya Datt, the series is set to premiere exclusively on the platform on June 21, 2024.

‘Bad Cop’ showcases Gulshan Devaiah as twins Karan and Arjun, who are polar opposites – one a powerful cop and the other a witty thief. Their lives become intertwined in an unexpected manner, changing their destinies forever. Anurag Kashyap plays the role of the deadly and manipulative Kazbe Mama, while Harleen Sethi stars as Devika, a righteous cop. The series also features Saurabh Sachdeva and Aishwarya Sushmita in significant roles.

Aradhana Bhola, Managing Director of Fremantle India, expressed excitement about sharing their first drama web series with audiences. She praised the team, including writer Rensil D’Silva, director Aditya Datt, and the leading cast, for bringing their unique talents to the project.

Director Aditya Datt highlighted the series as a captivating masala story with a double role hero and a deadly villain. He noted the effort put into designing action and chase sequences to provide a larger-than-life viewing experience.

Anurag Kashyap described his character Kazbe Mama as a charismatic and lethal villain, drawing inspiration from iconic negative characters in Indian cinema. Gulshan Devaiah shared his enthusiasm for playing the twin roles of Karan and Arjun, emphasising the challenge and excitement of portraying characters with distinct personalities and backgrounds.

Harleen Sethi, who plays Devika, reflected on her initial skepticism and eventual appreciation for the role, noting the character’s strength, wit, and resilience in a male-dominated police workforce.
