Governor opens seminar of National Commission for Women

Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that sympathy and cooperation towards the weak is the basic nature of human beings. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, one family and taking everyone along is Indian culture.

Exploitation and atrocities are human distortions. It is the responsibility of a civilized society to inspire and encourage control. He said that the society will have to come forward to make decisive efforts to solve the small challenges faced by the women of the denotified tribes. Work should also be done to change the social attitude towards the deprived class.

Governor Patel was addressing a seminar organized today by the National Commission for Women in collaboration with the Race Lab at the R.C.V.P. Noronha Academy of Administration and Management. The theme of the seminar was Challenges of Denotified Tribal Women. At the beginning of the programme, Governor Patel was welcomed by being presented with a sapling. He inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp.

Governor Mangubhai Patel said that a family’s responsibilities centres around a woman. Considering
the woman’s family and social responsibilities, efforts must be made to solve them. He asked all stakeholders of tribal welfare work to go among the community. He told to understand the challenges
and try to solve with one’s knowledge and talent. Small efforts will become the motivators of big changes. He said society’s cooperation is necessary in solving the challenges of women.
