Samara, Russia, (UNI) The first launch of the Soyuz-5 carrier rocket, which is currently being developed by the Samara-based Rocket and Space Center Progress, is scheduled for December 2025, the developer said on Thursday.
According to the materials presented to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin during a tour of the center, the creation of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle should be completed on November 25, 2025. The installation of equipment at the Baikonur cosmodrome should be completed by August, and the inaugural launch of the Soyuz-5 spacecraft is scheduled for December 24, 2025.
During the tour, Mishustin was also shown the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle assembly and testing shop, and then presented information on the development prospects of the Progress center.
