Election Code: Rs. 4.4 cr worth of narcotics, liquor, cash, & jewellery seized: Kakinada Collector

Kakinada, April 10 (UNI) As a part of the strict implementation of the election code, cash, liquor, narcotics, and silver and gold articles worth Rs. 4.4 crore were seized through the election seizure management system by conducting intensive searches in Kakinada district from March 16 till April 10.

Announcing this to media persons here on Wednesday.

District Collector J Nivas said that the seized articles include Rs. 17 lakhs in cash, 1,34,011 litres of liquor worth Rs. 1.14 crores, Narcotics valued at Rs. 13.40 crores, Rs. 1.91 crores worth 118 grammes of silver and gold, and Rs. 31.29 lakhs worth of various articles meant for luring the people.

The Collector further said that these raids were conducted by enforcement departments, flying squads, and static surveillance teams.
