New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) A Delhi Special Court on Monday dismissed the bail application of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha, who has been arrested in connection with the CBI and ED cases related to the alleged excise policy scam.
Special Judge for CBI and ED, Kaveri Baweja after hearing arguments on behalf of the prosecution and defence, rejected Kavita’s bail applicationin both the CBI and ED cases.
The counsel for the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) opposed the bail application by submitting before the court that if bail is granted at this stage she may tamper with evidence.
The Enforcement Directorate apprehended Kavitha (46) from her residence in Hyderabad on March 15. Later, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested her and she is in judicial custody in both cases scheduled to end on May 7.
