Cyber Police issues advisory on use of mobile phones

Bhopal: Taking serious note of the incidents related to cybercrime, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav recently directed the state cyber police to issue an advisory to the common citizens to take precautions related to the use of mobile phones. On the instructions of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the State Cyber Police Headquarters has issued an advisory regarding precautionary measures to be taken while using mobile.

It has been said in the advisory that do not trust any call coming from any unknown number, whether it is made in the name of any government organization or in the name of providing benefits of any government scheme. If someone invites you or your family members for a meeting at an unknown place, then refrain from going or take an intelligent person with you. Keep your family and friends informed about people who you suspect may harm you. The voice created through the voice changer application is sometimes very melodious and computerized, hence when receiving such a call, pay attention to whether the voice is artificial.

It has been said in the advisory that if someone calls you posing as your acquaintance, then disconnect the said call and call the acquaintance in whose name the call has been made on his personal number and ensure whether the call was made by the same person. If any cybercrime or similar crime happens to you or you get information about any kind of cybercrime, then report it to your nearest police station or www.cybercrime.gov.in or Cyber Crime Help (Toll-Free). Call number 1930.
