Cultural splendor marks Bundelkhand University’s convocation ceremony

Bhopal: Bundeli culture and traditions took center stage at the third convocation ceremony of Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University, Chhatarpur, held on Basant Panchami under the chairmanship of the University’s Chancellor,  Mangubhai Patel. The event unfolded in front of the Centenary Hall, with notable dignitaries in attendance.

Dr. Mrityunjay Mahapatra, the Director General of Meteorology, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Saraswat guest, while Chhatarpur MLA Lalita Yadav participated as a special guest. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shubha Tiwari, presented the comprehensive report of the convocation ceremony, highlighting its significance.

The program commenced with a group photo session featuring research students, research directors, and professors in the presence of the chief guest, Governor Mangubhai Patel. Subsequently, a procession adorned in Bundeli attire made its way to the stage.

The convocation formally commenced with the garlanding of the statues of Mother Saraswati and Maharaja Chhatrasal, accompanied by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Following the national anthem performed by the police band, Kulgan Vandana and Saraswati Vandana were presented.

Gold medals, degrees awarded

Governor Mangubhai Patel congratulated 38 students, awarding them gold medals and degrees. The university’s publications, Chhatrachaya and Deekshavani, were released, and oaths were administered.

Governor Mangubhai Patel announced that the Vice Chancellor will now be referred to as the Kul Guru. Expressing pleasure at attending the convocation in the historically rich land of Maharaja Chhatrasal, he lauded the university’s role in Bundelkhand.

Dr. Mrityunjay Mahapatra received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from MCBU for his exceptional contributions to meteorology, presented by Governor Mangubhai Patel. The distinguished guest explored an art gallery featuring captivating paintings created by students of the painting department, expressing admiration for their work.
