Patna, Dec 22 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday directed the health department officials to increase RTPCR test in view of the rising graph of covid cases in other states.
Kumar reviewed the situation at a high level meeting here and issued necessary instructions in view of the increasing cases of Covid in other parts of the country.
Apart from increasing the RTPCR test, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure availability of medicines, equipment, bed, oxygen, human resources and others in view of the fixed standard operative procedures for covid.
He also asked the officials to sensitize people through social media to follow the guidelines of the covid.
Nitish said that there is no need to panic but everyone should follow the guidelines and use face masks in hospitals and in public places.
Additional Chief Secretary Health Pratyay Amrit during the meeting apprised the Chief Minister about the latest situation of Corona in Bihar.
He said two cases have been reported of JN.1 variant in the state. He said this variant was not highly dangerous and those two detected positive for the virus have been put under isolation.
The health department was on alert and has adopted all possible preventive measures, Amrit said.
