Congress to launch general election campaign from Telangana

Hyderabad, Apr 6 (UNI) The Congress Party is set to kick off its general election campaign from Telangana with a grand public meeting titled “Jana Jatara,” slated to take place in Thukkuguda, Ranga Reddy district, on Saturday evening.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has made extensive arrangements for the event, with a community hall spanning 60 acres and parking facilities spread across 300 acres. Three platforms have been erected for the meeting, with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth, and other ministers expected to grace the main stage. Notable leaders of the Mahakutami alliance and the Congress will occupy another stage, while a third stage has been dedicated to cultural events.

A 200-meter-long ramp has been erected from the main stage to the center of the crowd, where Rahul Gandhi will address the gathering as chief guest. Separate galleries have been allocated for female attendees, with an estimated turnout of one million people anticipated. To combat the dry weather conditions, special stalls offering water and buttermilk packets have been set up.

During the meeting, the Congress’s National Manifesto will be released in Telugu. The manifesto, comprising 23 points related to Telangana, pledges to grant national status to Medaram and the Palamuru Rangareddy project.

Further, it promises the establishment of a railway coach factory in Kazipet and reintegrating five mandals into Telangana that were merged into Andhra Pradesh during the state division.

Revanth is slated to elucidate the Congress’s achievements in the first 100 days to the attendees, according to party sources.
