Cong not to participate in exit poll debates on June 1: Pawan Khera

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) The Congress on Friday said that the party will not participate in any of the exit poll debates on June 1 releated to the general election and said that it was not in favour of indulging in speculation and slugfest for TRP.

Congress Spokesperson Pawan Khera however said that the party will happily partake in debates from 4th June onwards.

On social media post X, Khera said, “Voters have cast their votes and their verdict has been secured. The results will be out on 4th June. Prior to that, we do not see any reason to indulge in speculation and slugfest for TRP”.

He said, “The Indian National Congress will not participate in the debates on exit polls.

The purpose of any debate should be to inform the people. We will happily partake in debates from 4th June onwards”.

It may be mentioned that the seventh and final phase of the Lok Sabha election will be held tomorrow for 57 Parliamentary Constituencies spread across eight States and Union Territories.

The Election Commission has restricted the media from telecasting exit polls before 6 PM on June 1.
