Collector holds meeting with fish, mutton vendors

Bhopal: Collector Shri Ashish Singh, in compliance with the decision taken by the State Government, held a meeting of meat and fish sellers and directed them to follow the instructions issued regarding ban on sale of meat and fish in the open. He also instructed Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Frank Noble to run a special campaign in the urban area in this regard.

In the meeting, meat and fish sellers asked for a week’s time to follow the instructions, which was agreed to.

Collector said that action will be taken against the violation after a week. Collector Shri Singh made it clear in the meeting that after this, if the instructions are violated, action will be taken against the concerned under various acts. Under the order, it is mandatory for all establishments selling meat and fish to have opaque glass/doors and complete arrangements for cleanliness. Along with this, sale or display of the said material is prohibited within a distance of 100 meters in front of the main gate of any religious place.

Municipal Corporation officials and meat and fish sellers were present in the meeting.
