Bhopal: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav took a dig at Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sam Pitroda, characterizing their recent remarks on inheritance tax as unacceptable.
Yadav remarked, “While Prime Minister Narendra Modi is diligently working to propel the nation forward, the opposition’s actions are nothing short of foolishness. PM Modi has effectively exposed the opposition’s mindset regarding wealth redistribution, putting the Congress leaders in an unfavorable position.”
Condemning Rahul Gandhi’s recent statements and urging him to apologize to the nation, Yadav also highlighted Pitroda’s suggestion regarding the implementation of American laws in India, emphasizing the need for clarity on the Congress party’s stance.
Cong will bear the consequences: CM
The CM said, “Sam Pitroda, Rahul Gandhi’s political mentor, suggested implementing an American law here in India. Whether Rahul Gandhi endorses this view or merely considers it Pitroda’s personal opinion is unclear. However, the nation and voters remain cognizant. There’s a prevailing sense of awareness, and Congress will bear the consequences.”
Earlier, stressing the need for a policy toward wealth redistribution, Sam Pitroda spoke about the concept of inheritance tax prevailing in America and said these were issues that would need to be debated.
Following the uproar sparked by his remarks, Pitroda tried to control the damage by clarifying that he had merely referenced the inheritance tax in the US as an illustration.
Pitroda posted on X, “Who said something like this should be done in India? Why is the BJP and the media in panic? I mentioned US inheritance tax in the US only as an example in my normal conversation on TV. Can I not mention facts? I said these are the kind of issues people will have to discuss and debate. This has nothing to do with policy of any party including congress.”
