Central team inspects Medigadda (Lakshmi) Barrage for safety assessment

Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) A six-member Central team led by Anil Jain, a member of the Central Water Commission (CWC), conducted an inspection at the Medigadda (Lakshmi) Barrage to assess the dam’s safety.

Following the inspection, the committee will submit its report to the Central government.

The Central team was accompanied by Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) Engineer-in-Chief (ENC) Venkateswarlu and representatives from L&T, according to official sources.

It is worth noting that on Saturday evening, an incident occurred at Block-7 of the Barrage, with a section of the bridge exhibiting sagging and accompanied by a loud noise.

Following a letter from BJP state president and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy to Jal Shakthi Mantri Gajendra Shekhawat on Sunday, a six-member committee led by Anil Jain was constituted and sent to Telangana to evaluate the safety of the project.
