New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Ahead of Lok sabha elections, BSP MP Ritesh Pandey on Sunday joined the BJP in presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and other BJP leaders at Party Headquarters in New Delhi.
Ritesh Pandey tendered his resignation from BSP earlier on Sunday, representing the Ambedkar Nagar parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the media after joining BJP, Pandey said he was inspired by Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a developed India and had joined the BJP to work towards this goal.
Early in the day, Pandey shared on X the resignation letter he had sent to BSP chief and former UP Chief Minister Mayawati.
The letter thanks her for giving him the opportunity to represent the party in Lok Sabha.
“I received your guidance from the moment I entered public life through BSP. The party’s grassroots workers handheld me as I learnt to walk through the corridors of power,” the letter started.
Pandey has been representing the Ambedkar Nagar constituency since 2019 after he defeated his BJP rival Mukut Bihari in the general elections.
Prior to this, he served as an MLA from the Jalalpur constituency between June 2017 to May 2019.
He was appointed as the leader of BSP in the Lok Sabha in January 2020.
