BJP will not come to power for 3rd time in 2024 LS polls : Stalin

Tiruppur, (UNI) Asserting that the BJP led government at the Centre will not come to power for a third successive term in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls due in 7-8 months time, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K.Stalin claimed that people would not vote for them in the polls.

Addressing a party meeting at Kangeyam in this district on Sunday evening, Mr Stalin said since the BJP had no achievements to claim and has not fulfilled its poll promises, it has passed the Women’s

Reservation Bill in Parliament to cover up its failures.

“None of the promises made by the BJP in Tamil Nadu, including the modernisation of the Salem Steel Plant have been fulfilled”, he added.

Mr Stalin said the DMK was ready and prepared to face the polls any time and the BJP, like how it was rejected by the people in the 2019 Parliamentary polls, would be rejected again in the ensuing 2024 elections also.

He referred to the reported friction and fissures on the ties between the main Opposition AIADMK and its key ally, the BJP, and the former categorically asserting that it has snapped its ties and the saffron party was no more its ally.

This point was reiterated today by the AIADMK senior Leader and former Minister D.Jayakumar who said there was no change in the party’s stand announced on September 18 that BJP was no longer its ally.

The AIADMK had taken this stand in protest against some remarks made by BJP State Unit Chief K.Annamalai against Dravidian Stalwart and former Chief Minister C.N.Annadurai and AIADMK leaders MGR and J.Jayalalithaa.
