Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and decided to bowl first against India in the first cricket test at the M A Chidambaram stadium here on Thursday.
As the wicket is likely to aid the seamers and later the spinners, India has fielded three seamers bringing in Akash Deep along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohd Siraj and two spinners.
Bangladesh too will be fielding three seamers to use the initial moisture in the wicket and two all rounders.
Last time a team opted to bowl at Chepauk was in 1982.
For the first time in 21 Tests a team winning the toss has opted to bowl.
