Axis Bank inaugurates 21 new branches in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Feb 26 (UNI) Axis Bank, one of the largest private sector banks in India, inaugurated 21 new branches in Karnataka on Monday.

These new branches are strategically located across various regions of the state namely Bengaluru, Udupi, Vijayapura, Haveri, Hassan, Koppal, Tumkur, Shimoga and Vijayanagara, Axis Bank said.

Among these, 9 branches are situated in metropolitan areas, four in urban centers, three in semi-urban regions, two in rural areas, and three in rural unbanked regions, the bank said.

The newly inaugurated branches will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology-driven banking solutions, aimed at enhancing customer convenience and efficiency, it said.

“Our 21 new branches located at strategic locations represent more than just physical space, it is a promise—to empower, support, and serve. Our business in the state has seen significant expansion in the last few years, and we will strive to keep raising the bar with tailored solutions, exclusive benefits and value-driven approach that resonate with our customers’ aspirations,” Axis Bank Managing Director and CEO Amitabh Chaudhry said.

Commenting on the branch inauguration, Axis Bank Group Executive Ravi Narayanan said the inauguration of 21 new branches in the state stands as a testament to the bank’s commitment to empower businesses and facilitate financial inclusion among other things.

“We strive to expand our reach and bring our services closer to our valued customers and ensure convenience and ease of access for all,” he said.

In addition to expanding its physical footprint, the bank has been deeply committed to promoting economic growth, community development, and environmental sustainability in Karnataka, Narayanan said.

The bank has played a crucial role in nurturing startup innovation and entrepreneurship as the founding sponsor of the India Global Innovation Connect (IGIC), a Bengaluru-based global landmark event focused on startups, he said.

The SPLASH initiative of Axis Bank creatively engaged over 33,000 children from all over Karnataka, encouraging them to express their thoughts through art, craft, and literature, the Group Executive said.

Moreover, Axis Bank has reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability with the successful implementation of its Green Initiative in Karnataka, he said.

Remarkably, 92 percent of all branch transactions in the state occur through digital platforms, thereby marking a substantial reduction in paper usage and a significant contribution to environmental conservation, Narayanan said.

Additionally, the bank earned two prestigious titles in the Asia Book of Records for its Clean-A-Thon cleanliness campaign, with notable efforts in the state, he said.

These initiatives underscore the bank’s holistic approach to banking, combining financial services with responsible corporate citizenship and environmental stewardship, thereby fostering a meaningful impact within the communities it serves, Narayanan said.
