Assembly poll : CEC, Election Commissioners to visit Hyderabad on Oct 3 : Telangana CS

Hyderabad, Sep 29 (UNI) Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Friday said Chief Election Comissioner Rajiv Kumar and two Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel will visit Hyderabad on next Wednesday to review the poll preparedness for the forthcoming Assembly election in the state.

Santhi Kumari asked the officials to come prepared with all details as the EC members will hold meetings with enforcement agencies, district collectors, SPs/CPs and also with the senior officials of the state government during their three-day visit.

The Chief Secretary directed the officials to demonstrate the readiness of the state government towards conducting the election.

She said that as the election was to be held in a couple of months, thorough knowledge of the poll-related issues should be there and officials should provide all the details in a uniform manner.

Details of assured minimum facilities at the polling stations should be provided. The disabled welfare department officials were told to procure wheel chairs and kept at the polling stations in consultation with the district collectors.

Vacancies of AEROs/EROs should be immediately filled. Details on integrated border check posts should also be made available to the EC officials, she added.

The Chief Secretary convened a meeting with senior officers to review the preparations made for the ECI officials’ visit to the state.

The meeting was attended by CEO Vikas Raj, Special CS Energy Sunil Sharma, Special CS Finance Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary Home Jitender, Principal Secretary Revenue Navin Mittal, Principal Secretary PR & RD Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Secretary GAD Seshadri, Secretary Education V. Karuna, Special Secretary Women and Child Welfare Bharathi Holikeri, CIPR Ashok Reddy, and other officials.
