Assam CM attempts to inject communal colour to Rahul’s BJNY: Jairam Ramesh

Guwahati, Jan 19 (UNI) Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Friday accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of attempting to inject communal colour to party leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra (BJNY).

Addressing a press conference in Majuli, he said that the CM is scared of Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, leading to confusion in his statements.

Today is the second day of Rahul’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Assam, and it has entered Majuli, Ramesh added.

Jairam said that former Congress President’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will be in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday and in the Nagaon district of Assam on Sunday.

He claimed that the Yatra has garnered substantial support from the people of Assam and added that the Chief Minister is also attempting to halt the Yatra by issuing various threats.

Ramesh said that Sarma loses his mental balance when he thinks of Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Jairam alleged.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Bhupen Borah and MP Gaurav Gogoi were present at the press meet.
