Artists mesmerize audience with their dance

  • Excitement of dance on bed of spring on third day of Khajuraho dance festival

On the fourth day of the International Dance Festival at the World Heritage Site Khajuraho, four dance performances took place, including Odissi by Momita Ghosh Vats, Kathak by Padmashree Nalini Kamalini, Kochi-Kuddi Attam Trilogy by Margi Madhu and Sathi, Kathak by Dr. Suchitra Harmalkar and the Manipuri performance of Roshali Rajkumari enthralled the audience. The fourth day of the festival started with the Odissi dance of Momita Ghosh Vatsa. In the musical composition of Nazia Alam composed in Raga Vibhas and Ek Taal, Momita Ghosh beautifully embodied Lord Vishnu through her dance performances and gestures. In the next offering she presented Samadhwani. It was a pure Odissi dance. In this presentation, Momita Ghosh showed coordination of body movements and rhythm. She showed the trend of various lyricists on the composition composed in Raga Gorakh Kalyan and Ek Taal.

= Presented the incident of abduction of Mother Sita
The final offering was the famous Kochi Koodiyattam dance from Kerala. Kerala artist Margi Madhu and her colleagues performed the leela of Jatayu Moksha through this dance. Actually it was a dance drama. In this, Guru Margi Madhu Chakyar played Ravana, Indu played Sita, Hari Chakyar played Jatayu. In this presentation, the Leela from Sita Haran to Jatayu Moksha was described.
