Arrested TN Minister without portfolio resigns : Multiple reports says he has sent in his papers to CM

Chennai, (UNI) In a sudden and unexpected development, Tamil Nadu Minister without portfolio V.Senthilbalaji, who was arrested in a money laundering case by the ED in cash for jobs scams and lodged in Puzhal Central prison, has resigned from post late on Monday night.

Multiple Media reports, confirmed that he has sent his resignation letter to the office of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin.

When UNI spoke to a cross section of the media, they said it was confirmed and that they have filed it and the story is being published in their papers tomorrow.

The letter has been sent to the CM through his lawyer.

The reports said it was expected that it will be forwarded to Governor R.N.Ravi for further action with recommendations from the Chief Minister.

However, whether it will be accepted by the Chief Minister, who had been reiterating that he will continue in the Cabinet despite objections from Opposition parties and the Governor and the High Court asking the CM to take a call on it as he was incarcerated for nearly eight months, or not, was still not known and an official confirmation alone will give a clarity on the issue.
