Air Commodore Manoj Kumar takes over command of Equipment Depot, Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Aug 31 (UNI) Air Commodore Manoj Kumar took over the Command of Equipment Depot Bengaluru from Air Commodore Rajesh Bhandari on 31 August in a befitting ceremony in the presence of all depot personnel.

Air Commodore Manoj Kumar was commissioned in the logistics branch of Indian Air Force on 17 December 1988.

During his career spanning more than three decades, the Air Officer has held numerous key field and staff appointments and has been Senior Logistics Officer at Air Force Station New Delhi and has Commanded Air Stores Park, Air Force Station Gurugram.

He has also pioneered procurement through GeM in services at HQ level during his tenure as Director MT at Air HQ RK Puram. He has been Command Logistic Management Officer (CLMO) at HQ Maintenance Command (MC), HQ Training Command (TC) and at HQ South Western Air Command (SWAC) respectively.

The Air Officer is an alumnus of National Defence Academy, College of Defence Management and National Defence College. He is one of the few officers to undergo one year International MBA programme in Petroleum Management at Indian Oil Institute of Petroleum Management (IIPM), Gurugram under the aegis of University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Prior to assuming the current appointment, he tenanted the post of Air Commodore Op Logistics at the Air HeadQuarters.

Air Commodore Rajesh Bhandari has been promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshal and will take over as Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Procurement) at Air Force HeadQuarters, New Delhi on 1 September.
