Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal has once again set an excellent example of its multidisciplinary clinical services. A dedicated team of doctors at the institute saved the life of a prematurely born baby who weighed less than 1 kilogram at birth due to severe pregnancy complications.
During the pregnancy, the mother received continuous and appropriate care from specialists at AIIMS Bhopal’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OBGY). After birth, the baby was immediately admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where specialized medical care was provided. This baby was especially precious to the parents, as they had been waiting to have a child for eight long years. The doctors and nursing staff at AIIMS Bhopal provided continuous care and intensive treatment for three months.
As a result, the baby is now healthy and has been discharged home. Currently, the baby’s care is being managed under regular follow-up at the High-Risk Newborn OPD of the Neonatology Department, where specialists are closely monitoring the baby’s progress and providing necessary guidance to the family. On this occasion, the baby’s parents expressed their deep gratitude to the doctors, nursing staff, and the entire medical team at AIIMS Bhopal.
Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, expressing his happiness on this achievement, said, “This case is a remarkable example of dedication, patience, and the family’s unwavering trust in medical services.”
