New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) TN Governor RN Ravi on Friday told the Supreme Court that he is all set to administer the oath of office and secrecy to K Ponmudy at 3.30 pm Friday acting on Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s recommendation to re-induct him in the State Cabinet.
The Governor tendered his apology and submitted before the court that he had no intention to go against the orders of the court.
The Supreme Court yesterday came down heavily on Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi for refusing to re-induct DMK leader K Ponmudi into the state Cabinet even after his conviction in a criminal case was quashed by the top court.
A three-judge bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud said the Governor was “defying the Supreme Court” by his actions.
After SC rap, Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi will reinstate MLA K Ponmudy as a minister in Stalin’s cabinet.
