Absconding Akshay Bam did not get anticipatory bail from Indore High Court

Absconding BJP leader Akshay Kanti Bam, who joined BJP from Congress during the Lok Sabha elections, could not get relief from the High Court again.

On Friday, an online hearing was held on the anticipatory bail petition, which has now been extended. The new date has been fixed for May 29. Meanwhile, the hearing on the review petition filed by Akshay against the imposition of Section 307 is pending in another court. In fact, in a 17-year-old land dispute case, the trial court had ordered to increase Section 307 against him on April 24. An arrest warrant was issued for his absence from the hearing. In this matter, Akshay Bam has filed petitions in two different courts. Anticipatory bail was sought in this case from the High Court, while a review petition has been filed in the trial court on the imposition of Section 307. The hearing in both cases was fixed for May 24. The date on anticipatory bail petition has been extended. While the review petition is yet to be heard. It is to inform that after the imposition of Section 307, Akshay had also applied for anticipatory bail in the Indore Sessions Court, which has been rejected. After that, he approached the High Court, where the hearing proceeded for the second time. Now the next hearing in the High Court will be on 29th May.
