5 injured in crude bomb blast in Bengal’s Bhangar

Kolkata, June 4 (UNI) Ahead of counting in West Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats, a bomb blast caused critical injuries to five persons in South 24 Parganas’ Bhangar area, notoriously known as violence prone, official sources said on Tuesday.

All the injured, aged between 25-35 have been shifted to the government-owned SSKM Hospital in south Kolkata with one in critical condition.

The blast happened at Chaltaberia village, North Kashipur, after a crude bomb went off triggering injuries to the five people last night.

Police were investigating the causes of the blast. Among the injured was an ISF panchayat member.
