5.9-magnitude quake rocks Japan’s Noto region

Tokyo, June 3 (UNI) An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.9 jolted off Japan’s Noto region in Ishikawa prefecture early Monday, the country’s weather agency said.

No tsunami warning was issued by the authorities.

On Jan. 1, a series of strong quakes of up to 7.6 magnitude rattled the Noto region and its vicinity and triggered a tsunami.
