New Delhi Feb 6 (UNI) The government on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that there are 41,606 women personnel in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR) and steps are being taken to encourage recruitment of more women personnel.
In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said recruitment is being conducted by making wide publicity through print and electronic media. Moreover, all female candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
He said the government has given relaxations in Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) to all female candidates for recruitment in CAPFs in comparison to male candidates.
Facilities already available under the central government like maternity leave, child care leave, are also applicable to CAPFs women personnel, he added.
To check sexual harassment and expeditiously deal with the complaints of women personnel, committees have been constituted at all levels.
