Bhopal: On receiving information about the arrival of non-standard Mawa and Paneer consignment from Gwalior, as per the instructions of Collector Bhopal Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, the food safety officers checked the vehicle number MP07-GB-0531 at Navbahar Sabzi Mandi at 5.45 am. The truck was found to contain 79 dalias (about 31.50 quintals) of mawa and 13 packets (about 6.50 quintals) of paneer. Due to the possibility of them being non-standard, six samples of Mawa and two samples of Paneer have been collected and sent to the State Food Testing Laboratory, Bhopal.
As per the instructions of designated officer Devendra Kumar Verma, the entire quantity of Mawa and Paneer has been seized and kept in cold storage so that it does not decay quickly. On the basis of the investigation report, a decision will be taken regarding the sale/destruction of the seized mawa and paneer.
Fine of Rs 4.35 lakh imposed in 43 cases
Out of the cases presented by the Food Safety Administration, a total fine of Rs 4 lakh 35 thousand has been imposed by the Adjudicating Officer and Additional District Magistrate Harendra Narayan while passing judgment in 43 cases.
Among the decisions passed, Rs 50,000 against Nagpur-based Krishna Agencies for manufacturing fake Chamanbahar, Rs 25,000 against Nema Areca Traders based at Old Junkyard for selling non-standard areca nuts mixed with palm seeds, Rs 25,000 against Shree Krishna Dairy Shop, Bawadia Kala for selling non-standard areca nuts mixed with palm seeds. Twenty-five thousand rupees against Dave Saurashtra Dairy located at Harshvardhan Nagar on charges of selling non-standard mawa, Rs. twenty-five thousand against Dave Saurashtra Dairy located at Harshvardhan Nagar on charges of selling non-standard ghee and Rs. twenty-five thousand against Brijdham Dairy on charges of selling non-standard mawa, Tajul Masjid. The charge of operating food business in unhygienic conditions includes a fine of Rs 20,000 against the nearby Zam-Zam fast food.
