Ramallah, Feb 8 (UNI) Two Palestinians were killed on Wednesday by Israeli forces in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm, said the Palestinian Health Ministry in a statement.
The statement did not provide further details, but Palestinian security sources said Israeli forces raided the Nour Shams refugee camp in the city and exchanged fire with Palestinian gunmen, followed by the entry of large reinforcements into the camp.
The sources told Xinhua that the Israeli forces surrounded a house where several Palestinians were holed up, bombed it, and demolished parts of it with a bulldozer.
Clashes broke out between Palestinian gunmen and Israeli soldiers surrounding the house, and sounds of heavy gunfire were heard throughout the area, according to eyewitnesses.
Israeli Radio reported that the Israeli army forces carried out an operation to thwart terrorist activities in the camp, adding they arrested wanted persons and killed two near a building.
