2 men dressed as priests thrashed by group of youths

Narmadapuram: A group of youths allegedly waylaid two men dressed as priests, and thrashed them with belts in the middle of the road in broad day light in Narmadapuram.

The incident took place in in front of VIP Road RCC Mall in the Kothi Bazar area on October 5, but was reported on October 7.

Two men dressed as priests (wearing dhoti-kurta and saffron gamchha) were riding a bike from Vivekananda Ghat towards Peepal Chowk. They were allegedly waylaid by a group of youths who arrived on bikes. One of the accused got off his bike and started beating the victims with belts while making threatening gestures.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed on the road, and the video has gone viral on social media.

The identities of both the accused and the victims have not been ascertained. The Kotwali police station has not received any formal complaint regarding the incident. They visited the scene and collected information from witnesses. However, as the accused and victims remain unidentified, no case has been registered at this point.
