Islamabad, Apr 13 (UNI) One man was killed and four others were injured in a clash between security forces and militants in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province on Friday night, officials said.
The incident happened in the Nushki district of the province, where five to six armed militants with flags of the banned outfit Balochistan Liberation Army blocked a highway to check all the vehicles passing by, official sources told Xinhua.
Security forces reached the site upon getting information, engaging the terrorists into a gun battle, in which a civilian whose vehicle had been stopped by the terrorists was killed and four others got injured, the sources added.
After the exchange of fire, the terrorists fled the scene and the road had been cleared for traffic flow.
The sources added that apparently, the terrorists were tracking their target, possibly someone from the law enforcement agency, or some police informer in the vehicles they stopped after blocking the road.
The injured people had been shifted to a nearby hospital.
