Voting with children costs dearly

The Election Commission’s instructions are being continuously violated in the Lok Sabha elections. Voting is to be done secretly and it is also the strength of democracy. However, people associated with politics in the state violated the rules by voting with children and it cost them dearly.

An FIR has been registered against Congress MLA Arif Masood from Bhopal Central Assembly. It is prohibited to take children along while voting. However, women can take small children. After Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan directed the District Election Officer to investigate and take action, an FIR was registered against Congress MLA Arif Masood at Shahjahanabad police station. Masood had come to vote with his minor son on 7 May. After this, he shared the photo and video of casting a vote with his son on social media. After this, the Election Commission took cognizance of the matter and directed the District Election Officer to investigate and take action. A case was registered against the Congress MLA at Shahjahanabad police station on Sunday.

Voting was held on nine seats in Madhya Pradesh on May 7 in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections. During this time, former minister Kamal Patel went to the polling booth in Harda and voted with his grandson. After receiving the complaint, the Election Commission has now given instructions to take action against these two leaders for violating the code of conduct. An FIR has been registered against Kamal Patel.

On the instructions of the Election Commission, Harda Collector and Aditya Singh have lodged an FIR in the concerned police station this afternoon against Kamal Patel for casting his vote along with his minor grandson. Taking this matter seriously, the Election Commission had given instructions for action.

FIR lodged against ZIP member

Chief Electoral Officer of Madhya Pradesh Anupam Rajan said that in Bhopal, District Panchayat member Vinay Maihar had got his minor son to cast his vote. Its video also surfaced, after which an FIR was registered against him. Now the collectors of the respective districts will also take action against Kamal Patel and Arif Masood.
