US: Armed man breaks into Colorado Supreme Court

Washington, (UNI) An armed man who broke into the Colorado Supreme Court in Denver and discharged his firearm has surrendered to state police, CNN reported on Tuesday.

The incident unfolded early morning on Tuesday and lasted for almost two hours, the report said.

The suspect, who remains unidentified for now, crashed his vehicle into another one near the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center, the report said.

The suspect then entered the judicial center by shooting in a window of the facility, the report said.

Once the suspect held the guard at gunpoint, he took the guard’s keys and proceeded to various parts of the building, the report said.

He subsequently called 911 and surrendered to the police, the report added.

The authorities have ruled out any connection to recent threats against the Colorado Supreme Court justices regarding their decision to ban former President Donald Trump from the state’s ballot for the 2024 presidential election.
