Etawah (UP), Jan 9 (UNI) Rajpal Singh Yadav, uncle of Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, died after a prolonged illness on Thursday.
Rajpal Yadav was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon, where he breathed his last. His body was brought to Saifai from Gurgaon, and his last rites were performed in a solemn atmosphere in the afternoon at his private farm in Saifai.
His elder son and District Panchayat president, Abhishek Yadav, lit the pyre. On this occasion, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, Prof Ram Gopal Yadav, Shivpal Singh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, former state president of SP MP Naresh Uttam Patel, former MP Raja Rampal Kanpur, Etawah MP Jitendra Dohre, MLC Mukul Yadav, former MLA Sobran Singh Yadav, former MLC Arvind Pratap Singh Yadav, former MLA Pramod Gupta Bidhuna, former minister Alok Shakya, former minister Ram Sevak Yadav, former minister Subhash Yadav, former MLA Rajkumar Yadav Raju, former MLA Raghuraj Singh Shakya, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Anuj Yadav, who was a candidate from the Karhal assembly, and former MLA Manikchand Yadav, and former minister Ramvriksh Yadav were present.
SP National General Secretary and elder brother Ram Gopal Yadav has expressed grief over the death of Rajpal. Sharing a post on social media platform X, he wrote, “It is with great sadness that I am informing that my younger brother Rajpal Singh has passed away untimely at 4 am today in Medanta Hospital Gurgaon. May God give peace to his soul and give him a place at his lotus feet. Om Shanti.”
SP founder Mulayam Singh Yadav’s younger brother Rajpal Singh received his primary education in a school in his native village, Saifai. He completed his intermediate from Jain Inter College in Karhal in the Mainpuri district and his BA from Etawah’s K Degree College.
He completed his MA from Lucknow University in 1976 and 77. He did his initial job in Meerut Sugar Mill but did not like it, so he came back to Etawah. In 1978, he was posted as superintendent in the Warehouse and retired in 2006 by taking VRS under voluntary retirement.
The eldest brothers in the Mulayam family are Ratan Singh, Abhay Ram, Kamala Devi, Rajpal Singh, and Shivpal Singh Yadav. Among them, Ratan Singh Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Rajpal Singh Yadav have passed away.
