Sourav Ganguly advises India to play freely at T20 WC

Kolkata, June 1 (UNI) Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has expressed his confidence in the Indian cricket team’s potential as they prepare for upcoming T20 World Cup matches.

Speaking on Saturday, Ganguly stressed the importance of an aggressive approach in the shortest format of the game.

“We hope the team will give their best performance,” Ganguly told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.

He advised the players to play freely and highlighted the significance of hitting sixes in T20 cricket. “The team that hits the maximum number of sixes will win. And every batsman in India can hit long sixes. Rohit (Sharma), Virat (Kohli), (Rishabh) Pant, Sanju (Samson), (Shivam) Dube, (Hardik) Pandya – and the team that boasts of Surya (Suryakumay Yadav), can they be a weak side?”

Ganguly’s comments come as a boost to the team and its fans, underscoring the strength and depth of the batting lineup. He noted the unpredictability of T20 cricket, where any team has the potential to reach the top 5, indicating a competitive tournament ahead.

As the team gears up for their T20 fixtures, fans will be eagerly watching to see if they can deliver on Ganguly’s expectations and dominate with their batting prowess.
