Mobile thieves arrested for stealing from empty homes

Over Rs 2 lakh worth of mobiles recovered

Bhopal, The Baghsevania Police in the capital have busted a mobile theft ring and arrested two suspects. From the accused, the police recovered 16 mobile phones valued at Rs 2.7 lakh. According to the police, the culprits had been traveling from Katni to Bhopal by train and were carrying out the thefts.
Police sources revealed that the accused, Kamlesh Modi (22) and Kajal Modi (27), would roam around residential colonies in the mornings to scout for homes. If they found doors left open, they would steal mobile phones and quickly flee the area, either by train or bus, heading back to Katni.
The police apprehended the suspects near the Habibganj Naka Bridge when they were attempting to sell the stolen phones. Among the recovered items were high-end phones from brands like iPhone, OnePlus, Redmi, Realme, and Vivo. The police are now continuing their investigation.
