Screening of documentary, poetic symposium held

Bahuri Akela Republic Day celebration 

Bhopal: On 26 January, Republic Day was celebrated with much enthusiasm on the completion of 75 years of the Indian Republic at “Bahuri Akela” cafe located in Bhanpur.

The program commenced with telecasting of the documentary “Making of the Indian Constitution”.  The documentary provided input to the audience about the nuances of the Indian Constitution, which was result of hard work of the Indian statesmen which lasted for 2 years, 11 months and 18 days coupled with long intellectual debates.

It was followed by the poetic symposium.

Renowned poets Ramesh Nand, Shri Parvez Akhtarand, Shri Anil enthralled the audience with their patriotic poetries.

A panel discussion on the topic ’75 years of the Indian Republic’ duly attended by Professor Dr. Sadavarte, Dr. Jagdish Suryavanshi, Shri D.S.Rai (IAS – Retd), senior journalist Mr Chakresh, Dr. (Major) Manoj Raje, Mr Ravish Kumar, Major Prabhakar Singh, and Professor Dr. Pyudev Manhat was conducted thereafter. There was a heated debate and informative conversation on various aspects of the Constitution and the Republic.

Panel discussion on status of women

On the same lines, another panel discussion was organized only for women on the topic “Status of Women in the Republic of India.” Mrs Aruna Ahirwar,  Mrs Archana Singh, Mrs Kusum Rai, Mrs Sudha Kumar, and Vidya Kamble shared their experiences on the changes in the status of women in the wake of the Constitution.

The director of the program, Dr. (Major) Manoj Raje reiterated that the purpose of the discussion is to make women aware about men only talking on various women’s issues so far. It’s due to constitutional provisions,today, women can express their views too.

Ms. Rashi Neelkanth enthralled the audience with soulful rendition of the song ‘Vande Mataram’. Mr Ghulam Kader stole the show with “mouth organ.”

This program, enthused with patriotic sentiments, intellectualism and music, was loved by the audience and would remain engraved in their mind forever.

The program was presided over by eminent social worker Mr. D.S.Rai (IAS-Retd). Dr. Vishal Massey graced the occasion as chief guest and Mr Vikas Saxena, Vice President Axis Bank,was the guest of honour. The program was conducted by Major Prabhakar Singh (Retd).
