Pain clinic started to provide relief from pain

Doctors’ consultation in BMHRC every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.

A pain clinic has been started at Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Center (BMHRC) for people suffering from incurable pain caused by various diseases.

It was inaugurated by Dr. Manisha Srivastava, Director-in-charge of BMHRC on Monday. In this clinic, every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, pain management experts of BMHRC will consult the patients in room number 5 on the first floor of the OPD complex. Patients suffering from chronic pain can directly come to the pain clinic and consult a doctor.

Dr. Manisha Srivastava said that there are many diseases like cancer, sciatica, arthritis, in which patients continue to suffer from severe pain. Despite all the medicines, they do not get any special relief. Pain Clinic has been started only for the treatment of such patients. There are pain specialists here who will cure neurological pain through medicines. Dr. Anurag Yadav, Medical Superintendent in-charge of BMHRC and Head of Anesthesia Department, said that if such pain occurs for more than 12 weeks or 3 months, then it is called chronic pain.

Do not take pain killers without medical advice

Dr. Archana Jiganwal, Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia, said that taking pain medicines again and again in case of pain is not good for health. This can have a negative impact on the kidneys and other organs can also be affected, hence it is necessary that the patient consult a doctor if he does not get relief from the pain and take medicines only after consulting the doctor.
