Over dozen Ajit Pawar MLAs in touch with Sharad Pawar: Sources

Pune, June 6 (UNI) At least 10 to 15 MLAs of Ajit Pawar’s NCP group are in touch with original party supremo Sharad Pawar again and they can desert the Maharashtra deputy CM anytime, sources in the know of things said here Thursday.

The news of another crisis in Maharashtra politics comes amid Shiv Sena Shinde group’s demand for a cabinet expansion.

A meeting of Nationalist Congress Party MLAs was held in Mumbai chaired by their national president Ajit Pawar earlier. The NCP (AP) MLAs also demanded cabinet expansion within 15 days.

After Ajit Pawar joined Eknath Shinde led Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, no cabinet expansion has taken place.

Now the MLAs of both splinter groups of NCP and Sena are demanding cabinet expansion before assembly elections which are likely in October.

Meanwhile, other Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his desire to resign following BJP’s Lok Sabha debacle in Maharashtra. This has created great excitement within the Maha Vikas Aghadi.

After the major set back in June 4 Lok Sabha results, Fadnavis went to Delhi to meet party’s top leaders.
