Muzaffar Beigh, wife Safina join Mehbooba’s rally on Mufti Sayed’s death anniversary

Srinagar, Jan 7 (UNI) In a major political development, senior political leader Muzaffar Beigh and his wife Safina Beigh joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rally to pay homage to former J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayed on his death anniversary at Anantnag on Sunday.

While sources in the PDP said that Beigh and his wife returned to the party fold, there was no official word from the party on the rejoining of the political stalwart.

However, PDP chief Mehbooba hinted at Beigh’s return in her speech.

“Beigh Sahib is my elder brother, and skirmishes do take place in the family. We should forget the past for the future, “Mehbooba said.

Mehbooba Mufti, Beigh, and his wife, District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson Baramullla, Safina, shared the stage to pay homage to the founder of the PDP, Mufti Mohammad Sayed, at his graveyard in Darashoka Bijbehara Anantnag on Sunday.

Both leaders paid tribute to the deceased leader at the occasion.

“Media is the fourth pillar of democracy,” Muzaffar Beigh told media persons on the occasion, while his wife described Mufti Mohammad Sayed as the “tallest leader of the country.”

Besides the top PDP party leaders, a large number of people attended the rally to pay homage to the PDP founder.

Beigh and his wife recently visited the residence of Mehbooba Mufti at the Nowgam residence to inquire about the health of her ailing mother, Gulshan Ara.

It is worth mentioning that Muzaffar Beigh had previously parted ways with the PDP and joined the People’s Conference of Sajad Lone, but later PC distanced itself from him. His wife, Safina Beigh, was an active member of the People’s Conference.
